Logistics Manager
Build an agricultural logistics network from the ground up, contracting regional carriers, integrating systems, and driving coverage from day one.
In a nutshell 🚜
FarmClick is a new agricultural inputs marketplace built in partnership with Piraeus Bank. As Logistics Manager, you will own the entire delivery network, from sourcing regional carriers across all Greek regions to building the operational and technological infrastructure from scratch.
This is a greenfield role. You are not inheriting an operation, you are building one, brick by brick. Greece's fragmented geography means this is both a strategic and deeply hands-on challenge.
The logistics infrastructure is central to the business model: FarmClick operates on a triangular model where it does not own inventory. Every carrier integration requires automated information exchange, pickup confirmation, delivery status, and payment clearance for vendors. The person in this role must understand both the business and the technological dimensions of that infrastructure.
What you'll be doing:
Logistics Network Development
Map carrier availability across all Greek regions and identify coverage gaps
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and contract regional transport partners per region
Build and maintain a structured carrier registry with terms, coverage, performance benchmarks, and escalation contacts
Coordinate API integrations with regional carriers for automated shipment booking and tracking
Develop a short- and long-term coverage expansion roadmap
Cost Optimization
Own transport cost as a key P&L metric; monitor, analyze, and report on cost per shipment by region and carrier
Identify and act on cost optimization opportunities without compromising delivery quality
Manage invoicing and reconciliation across multiple carrier contracts
Benchmark rates periodically and renegotiate where necessary
Operational Systems & Processes
Define and implement processes for shipment booking, carrier communication, tracking, and issue escalation
Establish standards for how carriers report delivery status and resolve exceptions
Work with product and tech to ensure operational workflows are reflected in the platform
Build SOPs for common logistics scenarios including returns, damaged goods, and failed deliveries
Carrier Performance Management
Set and monitor KPIs for each carrier (on-time rate, exception rate, responsiveness)
Conduct regular performance reviews and manage underperforming carriers
Serve as the main escalation point for complex delivery issues that can't be resolved operationally
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with commercial to ensure logistics capacity matches demand by region and season
Coordinate with finance on cost reporting, invoice disputes, and budget forecasting
Provide logistics input into product decisions affecting the buyer and seller experience
What you'll bring to the table
5+ years in logistics, supply chain, or transport management
Demonstrated experience building a logistics network from scratch, not just managing an existing one
Track record of negotiating and managing multiple carrier or freight contracts at scale
Working knowledge of the logistics technology landscape: TMS, ERP systems or specialised logistics tools
Experience handling cargo and pallet-basis logistics
Greek language fluency
Bonus points if you have:
Familiarity with carrier API integrations or experience working with tech teams on logistics automation
Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or B2B logistics environments
Knowledge of agricultural supply chains or rural/island delivery challenges
English proficiency - useful for internal collaboration and future cross-functional projects
