The Head of Finance will lead and manage all financial operations for the Wikifarmer Group, including the Cyprus-based Holding and operating entities in Greece and Spain. This key leadership role requires expertise in multi-entity financial management, digital and offline operations, and team supervision. The Head of Finance will drive financial strategy, cash management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while collaborating with external stakeholders. A vital part of the role is also to create and implement automations within the finance function to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Shape the financial future of the Group by overseeing strategy, policies, and procedures across our entities in Cyprus, Greece, and Spain
- Take ownership of Group-wide cash management — monitoring burn rate, runway, and ensuring financial stability.
- Lead planning and performance cycles including budgeting, forecasting, and regular reporting for both internal stakeholders and investors.
- Inspire and develop talent by managing and mentoring our Accounting Managers in Spain and Greece.
- Build strong external partnerships with banks, accounting consultants, customs offices, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Dive deep into unit economics and marketplace performance, turning insights into actionable improvements.
- Be a steward of efficiency, controlling budgets and driving cost optimisation initiatives.
- Own the narrative at the highest level, preparing and presenting financial information to the Board of Directors.
- Safeguard the business through regulatory compliance, audits, risk management, and robust internal controls.
- Champion digital transformation in finance, leading the implementation of automations (reporting, workflows, reconciliations) that increase accuracy, speed, and scalability.
- Keep the wheels turning operationally, overseeing finance processes related to logistics, supplier payments, and buyer credit offerings.
- Manage external audits end-to-end, working closely with trusted consultancies.
Experience and Requirements needed to be successful in this role:
- Full professional fluency in Greek and English.
- Strong accounting knowledge with understanding of international standards.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting and cash flow management.
- International experience in finance leadership roles.
“Nice to have”:
- Experience in a fast-paced start-up.
- Knowledge of Greek or Spanish accounting frameworks.
- Background in a VC-backed environment.
- Track record of driving finance automations to reduce manual work.
- Hands-on experience with ERP system integrations.
